Income Tax
Income Tax Calculator
Estimate income tax from illustrative old- or new-regime slabs stored in config. The rules are dated and not verified as current law.
How to read the result
The last-updated date is shown on the form. Treat every rupee as a planning sketch. Filing, TDS and Form 16 can differ.
What is left out
Surcharge, marginal relief, capital gains, special-rate incomes and alternate minimum tax are not modelled.
Income tax model
Tax = slab tax − rebate + cess
Taxable income is annual income minus the standard deduction (and extra old-regime deductions if entered). Cess is applied after rebate.
Frequently asked questions
Are these tax figures current law?
No. Slabs, rebates and deductions are illustrative assumptions with a last-updated date. They are not verified as current. Confirm on the Income Tax Department website or with a professional before filing.
What deductions are applied?
A standard deduction from config is applied automatically. Extra deductions you type are used only on the old regime. Surcharge and most other chapter-VI-A items are omitted.
Why is tax zero at some incomes?
This model applies a rebate when taxable income is at or below the configured rebate limit, then adds cess on any tax that remains.
